Senior Software Architect / Engineer
Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities
- Works in a new team dedicated to research and prototyping of Internet technologies in fixed telecommunications
- Contributes to delineation of SW requirements, based on defined use and test cases, stakeholder
- input and HW restrictions
- Contributes to definition of the SW architecture for prototypes, based on the delineated requirements and using CASE methods and tools
- Performs SW engineering/programming to realize prototypes
- Contributes to definition of the development environment (tools, language, libraries, ...)
- May provide technical leadership to other engineers (SW engineering)
- Contributes to team goals
Requirements on ideal candidates
- M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or similar.
- min 6 years of experience in software engineering, incl. min. 3 years of experience in designing,
- coding, integrating, testing and maintaining embedded software using CASE tools,
- and min. 3 years C/C++ developing experience
- Good understanding of SW architectures and SW engineering.
- Experienced in error handling, tracing, debugging and root cause analysis to achieve error-free operation.
- Expert esp. in networking protocols (control/data plane) and the related enabling technologies
- Experience and know-how of Control Plane technologies (IP, MPLS, Generalized MPLS) is appreciated
- PHD degree/research experience is appreciated. In this case, please include publication list in CV.
- Works independently with little supervision.
- Carries out specialised activities/projects according to general direction.
