Krisztian es Sanyi ahogy igerte, ma atadta a HUP szamara felajanlott ketto darab gyari csomagolasu 72GB-os COMPAQ merevlemezt (hihetetlen, hogy ismeretlenul, minden ellenszolgaltatas nelkul ennyit aldoztak...). Gaab segitsegevel el is jutott Bra-hoz az anyag, es Bra segitsegevel ma az egyik be is kerult a szerverbe (nem kellett a szervert leallitani, a tervezett leallas elhalasztva):

Sajnos mind a kettot nem lehetett ma beepiteni, mert a szerverben csak ketto hotswap HDD fiok van jelenleg. Viszont ezzel a diszkkel a mentesi problema megoldodott. A szerver harmadik hotswap HDD fiokja nalam van, ezt meg a heten elkuldom Bp-re. Ezzel mar be lehet epiteni a masodik 72 GB-os merevlemezet is. Ha ez megtortenik, akkor az operacios rendszer 72GB-nyi szoftver RAID1 tombre kerul. A meglevo 18GB-os HDD (amirol jelenleg a rendszer fut) a tovabbiakban backup celokat fog szolgalni.

HUP downFekete csutortok:

Csutortokon del korul megallt a HUP. Akkor ugy tunt, hogy kernel hiba miatt (vm error). Reboot. Erre magahoz is tert a rendszer. Utana nem sokkal mar allandoan hibakat szort, mire ujra reboot kovetkezett.

Ekkor mar nem porgott fel a boot diszk, ami nem sok jot vetitett elore (reinstall). Szerencsere minden adatrol allando mentes volt, az adatbazis is cronbol dump-olodott 30 percenkent, igy adatvesztes nem igazan tortent.

Mivel a reinstall nem volt azonnal lehetseges, ezert ugy dontottem, hogy egy masik gepen ujrainditom a szolgaltatast. Ami rendelkezesre allt: DTK desktop 256 MB RAM-mal, Celeron 2.4 GHz-es processzorral, 40GB-os IDE lemezzel + OpenBSD 3.5 operációs rendszer (kep). Az anyagot attettem a gepre kb. fel ora alatt. Szoltam Bra-nak, hogy modositsa a HUP bejegyzeset a DNS-ben.

Egy HUP-os megjegyzesnek koszonhetoen (samson) a korabban 0-as TTL-lel nyomatott bejegyzest (pont ilyen esetek miatt) Bra atirta korabban 86400-ra, igy hiaba volt a HUP kb. 1 ora kiesessel ujra elerheto, a DNS egy napig nem frissult, az emberek a halott gepet ertek csak el.

A HUP-on segitseget kertem a kihullott merevlemez potlasara.

Kozben megkertem Bra-t (csak o fer hozza az Axeleros gepekhez), hogy a HUP szerver egyetlen ep diszkjere (ezen volt eddig a backup) toljon fel egy FreeBSD 5.3 beta 3-at.

Pentek:

Penteken delelott nem volt idom az oldallal foglalkozni. Egesz nap hivtak, hogy ki hogy tud segiteni. Ez azert jol esett. Valamilyen szinten az elvegzett munka visszaigazolasa.

Meglepodtem, hogy mennyi segitokesz ember jelentkezett azonnal, egesz nap csorgott a telefonom. Több maganszemely, es az LME (Sari Gabor, Balsai Peter) is megkeresett segitseget ajanlva. Vegul Krisztian es Sanyi azzal hivtak fel, hogy kezukben ket darab 72 GB-os 80 pines SCSI Compaq lemez, hova kuldjek oket. Nekik koszonhetoen hetfon mar valoszinuleg lesz lemez, es hamarosan bele is kerulhet a gepbe.

Hogy teljes legyen a nyomor, az ideiglenes HUP halozatan penteken este megdoglott egy szunetmentes tapegyseg (kozben a szallitok meghoztak a megrendelt franciaagyat is, igy kb. azzal ment el 2 ora mig azt felcipeltuk a 2. emeletre). Sajnos az az UPS hajtotta a halozat aktiv eszkozeit (router, switchek), igy az ideiglenes HUP is elerhetetlen lett par orara (vele egyutt szamos mas fontos szerver szinten). Este 8-kor be a ceghez, szunetmentes tapegyseg csere, az ideiglenes HUP ujra elindult.

Este mar nem volt sok idom, igy lelottem az egeszet. Reggel fel hetkor kidump-oltam az ideiglenes HUP adatbazisat (ki a fene gondolta volna, hogy mar 140 MB-nyi a HUP adatbazis). A HUP-on felelesztettem az MySQL-t, Apache 2-t, es azokat a szolgaltatasokat, amelyek ahhoz kellenek, hogy a rendszer mukodjon (news szerver, stb.) Delre el is keszult a cucc.

Most megy a gep, remelem, hogy a FreeBSD 5.3 beta 3 sem lesz rosszabb, mint a 4.7-RC1 volt. Az utobbi ~710 nap utan adta meg magat (persze nem az OS hibajabol). A diszkekre nagy szukseg van, mert jelenleg nagyon keves hely van a 18 GB-os lemezen backup-ra. Ha megerkezik a 2 lemez, akkor az adatok RAID1-re kerulnek, igy egy magasabb adatbiztonsag lesz megvalosithato a rendszeren. Kozben ket ember - annak ellenere, hogy mar nem volt ra szukseg - penzt is utalt a HUP-nak. Az egyik olvasó 15.000 forintot, a masik pedig 2.000 forintot utalt át, hogy mielőbb újraindulhasson a HUP.

A telepito bebootol, latja a 4 processzort, felismeri a Qlogic 2200-as host bus adaptert, es a kulso storage-ban talalhato 6 darab diszkbol kialakitott RAID tombot is. A RAID tombre telepitheto az operacios rendszer akar halozaton keresztul is, mert latja a gepben levo halozati kartyakat es kezeli is. A gepben levo ServeRAID vezerlot nem kezeli az OpenBSD, mert a fejlesztok szerint nincs hozza driver. Ennek az oka az, hogy a fejlesztoknek nincs dokumentaciojuk, es hardveruk sem. Erdekes, hogy a FreeBSD kezeli a kontrollert... Thuglife megnezette a debug logokat Marco Peereboom-mal, az OpenBSD SCSI alrendszerenek fejlesztojevel, de o is annyit mondott, hogy ehhez a vezerlohoz nincs tamogatas.

A telepito bootol, latja a 4 processzort, felismeri a gepben levo ServeRAID adaptert, latja rajta a 4 diszkbol allo RAID5 tombot es telepul is ra (a bootolas utan az OS rendszertelenul ujraindul / elpanic-ol, nem az igazi ez a driver sem), ha a kulso storage nincs bekapcsolva. A telepites utan nem hasznalhatok a halozati kartyak. Az interfacek megvannak, IP cimet lehet nekik adni, de nem mukodnek. Ha a kulso storage be van kapcsolva, akkor a telepito bootolasakor a kernel panikol. Erdekes, mert az OpenBSD csont nelkul kezeli a kulso storage-ot, es hibauzenet nelkul hajlando hasznalni. Debug log elkuldve a fejlesztoknek, igertek, hogy megnezik, majd jelentkeznek. Kozben kiepitettem egy soros porton keresztuli tavoli debug lehetoseget, de eddig meg nem jelentkezett senki, hogy megnezne.

A Debian kernel forras (2.6.7) erdekes modon nem tartalmazta a drivert (vagyis benne volt a forras, csak make menuconfig-gal nem lehetett elocsalogatni). Ezert a kernel.org-os 2.6.7 forrasbol tekertem egy kernelt. A kartyahoz a CONFIG_ACENIC kell.
